The annual  M/S Surf Club Tournament : Oct 17, 18, 19
Our Club has participated in this tournament for the past 9 years and its one of our favorite events as a group. Again this year we will participate and support the M/S Tournament and its cause with the donation fee. However as a club we have made a decision to not weigh in any fish and avoid the kill part of the Tourney. Two other teams, the Connecticut Surfcasters Club and the Stripped-Bass.Com Team have already committed to doing the same. So we will join them in a conservation effort to avoid killing any more fish.

So we will fish the tourney as a catch and release tourney. Please make plans to attend the breakfast on Sunday at 8:30 at the Andrea Hotel restaurant on Atlantic Ave, Misquamicut - Westerly.

Tourney starts:
Friday @ 6:00 p.m. and ends Sunday 8:00 a.m.. Fishing area is from the Narrow River to Napatree Point

Nominations for Club Officers will be tonight. If you would like to run for a Board position, now is the time.

Guest Speaker: Club member Richie Reich
Topic: His story of a 52 Pound Striper From Shore

Every angler dreams of having that fishing trip when everything comes together perfectly and you land that fish of a lifetime.  That night happened last May for Richard Reich.

Called Richie by his friends, he grew up in Flushing, NY and fished from shore since he was six years old, fishing the east end of Long Island.

Seventeen years ago he moved to Narragansett, and since he already had the basic knowledge of a surfcaster, it didn't take long before he learned where and how to fish Rhode Island's coastal shores.

He plans to tell the story of that night last May when everything came together for his fish of a lifetime.

Come and listen to this great catch story from one of our members.
