Topic: Fly Fishing 101, Fishing the Salt
For any of our group who would like to venture into fly fishing the surf, this is the meeting to attend. Steve has a
wealth of knowledge in both fly fishing and surfcasting. He'll explain what equipment is best suited for the
beginner to advanced fly fisherman. Steve has fished our Narragansett waters and can relate to any area you've fished.
Bring plenty of questions on tackle, rods, reels, line weight, flies, whatever !
FYI: There's still a group of fly fisherman in the upper Narrow River and they're hooking up !!! Come to the sweet side of fishing..!
Upcoming events:
The annual awards dinner will be held in March. More details at the January meeting.

Fellow Surfcasters,
For those of you who don’t know me, my name Dennis Rebelo. A founding member and first President of the Narragansett Surfcasters. A fishing club for shore fisherman. The club was built on Ideas from myself and other local surf men gathered at the wall in Narragansett during the fall run. With the help of the original officers and members, we watched the club build to over 100 anglers.
As life has its turns, family commitments lead me in another direction and left me little time for the club I so enjoyed. On Nov. 22, 2010, I was re-elected as President of the Narragansett Surfcasters.
Looking over the current roster, I notice some names of the original members missing and new names of those whom I am not familiar. I would like to take this time to thank you for the warm welcome back into your organization. I look forward to getting to know the new members and welcome back my friends from years past. Myself and the board of directors have much in store for you this year. We are committed to conducting an informal atmosphere in which shore fisherman and friends can gather to laugh, tell fishing stories, maybe some true stories and share fishing knowledge.
